New CDM Executive Board Gets
to Work

Boston, Massachusetts
-- Monday, June 18, 2007
— The College Democrats of Massachusetts’ newly-formed
Executive Board has jumpstarted its work for the coming year and its officers
are laying the groundwork for the significant progress they plan to make during
their one-year terms.

The Executive Board members elected at the College Democrats
of Massachusetts (CDM) Annual Convention this spring finished, just last night,
selecting two additional and very qualified college democrats to remaining
Executive Board (E-Board) positions, thereby rounding out the board and setting
the stage for an amazingly productive year.

“I'm very optimistic for the coming year. CDM has its best
Executive Board in years,” commented CDM President Melissa Roberts, a student
at Boston College.

CDM is planning many new and innovative changes to the way
it interacts with colleges and offers support to College Democrats chapters
throughout the state.

One major change this year is the decentralization of some
statewide communications operations, which will now be handled on a regional
level by Regional Directors and newly appointed Regional Communications
Directors.

“We realized a lot of the work of the State Communications
Director was bogged down in facilitating discussions between nearby colleges,
and we saw a way to make that a lot more efficient,” said CDM Communications
Director Michael Vastola, a student at Tufts University.

The 11-member E-Board, which includes college students from
throughout the state, is actively in the process of prioritizing its goals for
the coming year and is developing a State Plan, which will serve as an
overarching framework for CDM’s endeavors for 2007-2008 and beyond.

Said Roberts, “I have confidence that these hardworking and
qualified people will be a great asset to CDM, and will help to ensure that the
youth of Massachusetts
are educated about civic responsibility and engaged in our political system.”
