Hampshire College

The Hampshire College Democrats seek to support Democratic candidates on both the local and national level by hosting campuswide events and collaborating with the other Democratic groups in the Five College Consortium. In the past year, during elections, we traveled to Plymouth with the MA College Democrats to canvass for Deval Patrick and other Democratic candidates as well as phone banking and canvassing at home in Amherst. HC Democrats also led a “Trick or Vote” event in which we knocked on doors in our city on Halloween night to remind local citizens to vote. In the spring, Hampshire Democrats held multiple political movie screenings and letter writing parties open to the general campus. In the coming year, we are excited to get going on the Obama 2012 campaign and get more involved in community activities.
