Clark University

During the 2010-2011 school year, the Democrats of Clark University (DCU) worked to elect progressive leaders and to create a forum that immerses students in both politics and community service. DCU hosted a human rights discussion with Rep. Jim McGovern and convened a panel of female leaders to investigate the role that women play in Massachusetts politics, The club continued its popular tradition of hosting Issues Night, which are coffeehouse style chats concerning such topics as the future of the Middle East and gun control. DCU members also organized a voter registration drive that presented hundreds of students with the opportunity to vote and hosted multiple letter writing campaigns.
