Boston College

The College Democrats of Boston College is one of the largest and most active political organizations on B.C.’s campus.

The 2010-2011 school year began with rallying for Barney Frank and progressed into committed and extensive canvassing for MA Democratic candidates.  We sent a large group of Eagles to the CDM campaign invasion in Plymouth, and canvassed successfully in the Newton area to Get Out The Vote for the midterm elections.

In February, a group of CDBC members attended the 2011 CDA Winter Conference in Washington D.C., marking the beginning of a very eventful spring semester.

In February and March we hosted a number of prominent Democrats, including Vikki Kennedy and MSNBC political analyst Eugene Robinson to speak about topics such as the intersection of progressivism and Catholicism and U.S. race relations.

In April we honored Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy with our Fr. Robert Drinan Award while simultaneously presenting our Democratic Rising Star Award to State Senator Benjamin Downing (D-MA).

We hold weekly, “West Wing Wednesday” meetings and are looking forward to a great new school year!
