Amherst College

The Amherst Democrats kicked off the 2010-11 year with an exciting and successful Voter Registration Drive on campus. We went door to door in all the first-year dorms and tabled in the campus center and dining hall to register enough students to win the College Dems of MA Registration Rumble. Besides attending the pizza party we were awarded with Governor Patrick, the Amherst Dems sent members to Jon Stewart’s Rally to Restore Sanity in Washington D.C. and an Obama talk in Boston. We also sent a group to Delaware to campaign for Amherst alumnus Chris Coons ’85 in his successful bid for Senator. The Dems hosted a viewing of “Inside Job” with Economics Professor Geoffrey Woglom in attendance to field questions from the audience. In the coming year, we hope to begin campaigning for President Obama and host more progressive film nights.
